Parent Involvement Opportunities

At Alta Sierra Intermediate, we deeply value parent input and participation. Parents have many opportunities to share ideas, provide feedback, and support our school community. Below are the key groups and committees that welcome your involvement:

School Assessment and Review Team (SART)

In Clovis Unified, SART provides parents and community members with a voice in school operations and program quality. Each school has a SART committee made up of parents, staff, students, and community members. Our ASI/BHS SART Committee meets quarterly at 9:00 a.m. in Room 853 at Buchanan High School. Meetings are open to all parents. Dates are published in our Bruin’s Den Newsletter.

Intercultural Diversity Advisory Council (IDAC)

IDAC’s mission is to support a safe, welcoming, and culturally inclusive environment in Clovis Unified. Parents help review practices and provide input on cultural competency focus areas. At ASI, our Parent Outreach/IDAC Committee meets quarterly in the evenings. All parents are encouraged to attend. Dates are posted in the Bruin’s Den Newsletter.

School Site Council (SSC)

SSC brings parents, students, and staff together to guide school improvement efforts and oversee categorical funds. Members serve two-year terms and are elected by their peers. If you would like to be nominated to serve on the ASI SSC, please email Amy Rios (amyrios@cusd.com).

English Language Advisory Committee (ELAC)

Schools with 21 or more English Learners have an ELAC to advise on programs and services that support English Learner students. Members also serve two-year terms. If you are interested in joining, please email Amy Rios (amyrios@cusd.com).

Local Control and Accountability Plan (LCAP) Forums

CUSD hosts annual LCAP meetings and community forums to gather parent and stakeholder input on district goals, programs, and funding priorities. If in-person meetings are held, and 2 parents are needs to represent ASI with Mrs. Carter.  Email Mrs. Carter – jennifercarter@cusd.com with interest.

Volunteer Opportunities

Parents are encouraged to volunteer throughout the year to support school activities, events, and programs. Email Office Manager, Alyssa Souza (alyssasouza@cusd.com) with interest.
